It’s Arch Madness Baby!

This month we are celebrating “ARCH MADNESS” in our office.  Focusing on the feet all of March!

Today we will discuss the important role that our feet play in spinal health, common ailments that we see as a result of poor foot health, and a tool that we have to evaluate the health of your feet.  We will also go over some solutions, and what we do to help our patients have healthy and happy feet.
1. All parts of the body are linked together, and the feet are the foundation.
  • There are 3 arches of the foot– medial, lateral and transverse – All work together to create the vault of the foot and are crucial with the stability of the foot when it is weight bearing.
  • Pronation happens when those arches are no longer intact, and they “fall”. When the foot falls, the knee turns in, then the hips and this affects everything up the chain.

2. 3 most common conditions that we see related to foot health:
  • Plantar Fascitis – inflammation of the connective tissue along the bottom of the foot. Main sx are heel pain and pain when first getting out of bed and walking, and stiffness in the foot
  • Knee pain/ Shin splints – inflammation and irritation of the ms around the lower leg.  Pronating of the feet causes stress on the inside of the knee
  • Lower back pain – due to un-leveling in the hips and pelvis, creating weaker muscles

3. Foot levelers 3D Scan in our office.
  • Our scanner uses 16 different measurements to determine the stability of the arches of the foot.
  • These custom stabilizers are made using measurements from your feet and are designed to support your whole foot and balance your pelvis and hips.

Special Offer! FREE foot scans and we are giving $25 off all custom orthotics this month. If you are experiencing any of these issues, or you are just interested in what your stability index is, come in this month for your free scan. Please call our office to schedule your appointment!
