DETOXIFY Your Body

Detoxifying your body is the natural process of ridding it of toxins and harmful substances that can build up over time. With today's society being bombarded with chemicals from various sources such as medications, chemicals in water, food additives, pesticides, hormones in meats, air pollution, household cleaners, and personal hygiene products, it's more important than ever to take steps to detoxify your body.
The primary organs that aid in detoxification are the liver, kidneys, lungs, skin, and gastrointestinal tract. The liver, in particular, is the main detox organ and is responsible for cleaning the blood, converting food to energy, making and balancing hormones, maintaining balance of sugars, and using and storing it. The kidneys remove waste from the body in the form of urine, the lungs filter unwanted chemicals from the air, the skin acts as armor to the outside and sweat is its method of ridding the body of toxins, the gastrointestinal tract breaks down toxins and removes them as waste. The lymph system also plays a critical role by moving liquid and cells around the body to protect against and remove invaders.

There are many options when it comes to detoxifying your body, and it can be overwhelming to know where to start. It's important to note that a one size fits all approach doesn't work, and it's best to consult with a professional before beginning a program. Detoxing is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or for extremely sick individuals.

Some options for detoxing include:
  • Drinking lemon water with ginger every day
  • Drinking clean water (distilled water)
  • Eating all organic foods
  • Eating whole foods, not processed
  • Limiting alcohol and caffeine consumption
  • Increasing activity and sweating (sauna)
  • Increasing omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants
  • Reducing exposure to toxins in soaps, cosmetics, and cleaning products
  • Taking supplements such as NAC, Glutathione, Milk Thistle, and Vitamin C

In conclusion, detoxifying your body is a crucial step in maintaining your overall health and well-being. By taking the time to understand the organs that aid in detoxification, and the various options available for detoxing, you can create a personalized plan that works for you. Remember to always consult with a professional before beginning a detox program.
